The purpose of Child Dedication is to acknowledge God's sovereignty over not only the child but also the parents. As part of the dedication, parents present their child before God, asking for His grace and wisdom in carrying out their responsibilities as parents. Dedication is also a commitment to consistent prayer for their child that one day they will fall in love with Jesus and live for God, as well as, an opportunity for family and friends to acknowledge their support of the parents in fulfilling this commitment.
